Q. How would you describe yourself?
I love to read. I also love imagination. It only made sense to me to combine the two, and write. I love everything horror, but I will read just about anything. I love interacting with my readers.
Q. Tell us something about the books that you have written and the story behind them.
I have been working on my Deadly Reality TV Series. I love everything horror, and I came up with an idea that was unique. I am an avid reader, and I wondered why there wasn't a book about people hurting themselves on television for money. As I thought more about it, characters came alive in my head. When I started writing the story, I used old fashioned pen and paper, before transferring it to my computer.
Q. What place does writing hold in your life, how has been your writing journey so far?
I have found that writing is a great outlet for me to empty my head of my creative ideas.
Q. What is your writing process, a typical writing day routine?
That's a tough question. It varies from day to day, depending on how attached I am to my characters. For example, some days it's so easy to empty my head on a sheet of paper. However, when my story has to terminate a character, I find that my writing process is much slower. It's as if I mourn for my characters. That's the toughest part for me. When my story outgrows a main character, my typical routine is dismissed, to give me a chance to process everything.
Q. What book marketing techniques have been most effective for you?
I love reaching out to bloggers, and am at the point that bloggers are reaching out to me. I have found so many great blogs out there. My to be read list just keeps growing and growing.
Q. What do you think makes a book sell, or makes a reader buy it?
Creativity. I think it helps if there is something unique that makes a book really stand apart from the rest.
Q. What's the most moving or affecting thing a reader has said to you?
Since I am working on a series, I love hearing when a reader buys the next book of the series directly after reading the previous book.
Q. What are your favourite three books, and why?
Sick B#stards by Matt Shaw is my favorite. It was so creative with a perfect balance of extreme horror. I am strange in the fact that I read other genres. For example, the Consequence series by Aleatha Romig was a series that I couldn't put down.
Q. Who are your favourite three authors and what do you like the most about them?
I have so many favorites that it's too hard to list just three.
Q. Tell us about the books that you are currently writing and their progress.
I am writing the final installment of Deadly Reality Tv Series. The progress is slower than my other books. It's as if I am mourning the loss of my characters. It's my final goodbyes to my characters. I will actually miss writing this series.
Q. What challenges do you think are faced by writers, what's the worst thing about the book industry according to you?
For new authors, it's hard to get your name out there.
Q. Apart from writing, what goals do you want to achieve in life?
In my opinion, happiness is the greatest goal anyone could strive for.
Q. What message do you want to share with budding writers?
If you enjoy it, stick with it. Listen to what the readers say. Their feedback is critical to the writing process.
